Mist Falls Hike Description

The Mist Falls Trail is a beautiful nature trail in the National Park that exhibits a diversity of flora and fauna. Meander through the steep-walled granite canyon to the magical waterfall. Indulge in the beauty and grandeur of the mountainous landscape while getting a good workout in! As you hike, be mindful of bears, as there have been plenty of sightings in the area. Note that the entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Setting out from the trailhead, the Mist Falls Hike follows the Paradise Valley Trail heading east along the South Fork Kings River. Enjoy the scene of the towering mountains, most notably Glacier Monument in the east. Soon after your departure from the trailhead, the Paradise Valley Trail will curve north around the base of Buck Peak. Mind your footing on the rocky terrain as you climb through the granite valley—don’t forget to take photos along the way.

Once you ultimately reach Mist Falls, you will be rewarded with the mesmerizing scene. Revel in the beauty of the waterfall cascading over the smoothed granite rocks. When you are through enjoying the views, backtrack along the path to the trailhead.
