Ella Falls Loop Hike Description

Immerse yourself in the beautiful wilderness along the Ella Falls Loop Hike. This scenic adventure guides eager explorers through various terrains exhibiting the charm and diversity of the area. Marvel at the grandeur of sequoias, enjoy lake views, and the scenes of a mesmerizing cascade—this trek cannot be beaten. The primitive nature of the route warrants a few poorly signposted intersections, so we encourage you to download the trail GPS before heading out. Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Embark on your adventure along the Ella Falls Loop from the Grant Grove Visitors Center. Setting out from here, cross over the Scenic Byway and merge left onto the South Boundary Trail. At the following intersection, turn right onto the Sunset Trail. Venture this route into the woodlands and down to Ella Falls. Marvel at the beauty of the cascade, then continue along the path which will redirect you north, climbing up to Grant Grove. Enjoy sparse views of Sequoia Lake through the tree breaks and track the Sunset Trail amongst the looming sequoias.

Eventually, the path will guide you to the Azalea Campground—from here, you will reconnect with the South Boundary Trail before crossing back over the Byway to the visitors center.
