Circle Meadows via Congress Trail Description

Hiking the Circle Meadows via Congress Trail makes for an enchanting experience. Meander through a corridor of looming sequoias to a lush meadow hidden in the grove. Note this area sees plenty of traffic, so expect to share the path. Those seeking a more tranquil experience are encouraged to head out early in the morning and late evening. When trekking in the winter months, be sure to strap on a pair of snowshoes. Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Your journey along the Circle Meadows via Congress Trail departs from the Sherman Tree Trailhead. Setting out from here, follow the Sherman Tree Trail all the way to the world’s largest sequoia. Marvel in the grandeur of the enormous tree, then continue along the trail, merging onto the Congress Trail at the following intersection. Heading south, you will eventually pass McKinley Tree, and at this junction, take the middlemost route south past the Old Cattle Cabin and Black Arch Tree.

Here, turn left onto the Circle Meadow Loop, tracing the lush meadow bound by looming conifers. Wander this path to The Senate, then reconnect with the rightmost Congress Trail intersecting with the Sherman Creek. Here, turn right and retrace your steps along the Sherman Tree Trail back to the trailhead.
