This impressive adventure explores a diversity of terrains, exhibiting the flora and fauna that occupy the alpine environment. While the mountain views and lush vegetation are pleasing, the real piece de resistance is the Bridal Veil Falls that tumble down the precipitous rock face. When hiking this scenic route, make sure to wear a comfy pair of footwear, and don’t forget your camera!
Setting out from the Iron Creek Trailhead, the Stanley Lake to Bridal Veil Falls Trail follows the Iron Creek- Stanley Lake Trail southwestwardly into a lovely meadow that sits in the foreground of the craggy crests. After some hiking, the path will escape into the forested canyon, traveling through alpine firs alongside the meandering creek. Beyond this point, the grade will intensify, and the terrain will become increasingly rocky. Now traveling southwardly, you will be granted impressive views of the mountain-bound valley as you contour the slopes of McGown Peak.
Soon you will reach the Bridal Veil Falls on the west side of the canyon. Admire the hypnotic scene of the alpine waters cascading down the sheer rockface. When you are through reveling in the beautiful waterfall, turn around and retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
