Hidden Valley Trail Description

There is no doubt about it, the Hidden Valley Hike is a butt burner. Ascend the short, but steep terrain up to an awesome lookout over the Rocky Mountain National Park’s snow-dusted peaks. Though the trail is short, it demands stamina. The vertiginous nature of the path means that it is likely not manageable by younger kids or inexperienced hikers. As adventurers will be ascending high elevations, it is recommended to be acclimated to the area’s altitude prior to conquering this path! Hikers are also required to purchase a Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) pass to access the network of trails.

From the trailhead, the Hidden Valley Trail follows the Hidden Valley Creek west. Shortly after your departure from the trailhead, you will be guided along a pine lined path that will overwhelm you with its fresh scent. Ascend the path along the creek and enjoy the mediative ambiance of the babbling water. Eventually, you will summit the path when you meet the Trail Ridge Road. From here, enjoy expansive views of the mountainous landscape that hem the verdant subalpine forests below.

Revel in the beautiful scenery, and when you are ready to descend simply retrace your steps along the path back to the trailhead.
