McClures Beach Trail Description

Seeking a short, but scenic adventure in the Point Reyes National Seashore? Well, the McClure Beach Trail certainly checks all of those boxes! Wander along the short single-track path to the pristine beach on the Pacific coastline. We love a good beach, and McClure Beach is secluded and impressively scenic. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the crashing surf, have a picnic, or throw a ball around—you could spend the whole day here! Though inviting, the surf here is too dangerous for swimming.

Embark on your adventure along the McClures Beach Trail from the trailhead at the end of the McClure Beach Access Road. From here, the McClures Beach Trail travels westward along a single track path through a corridor bounded by the grassy headlands. Not long after your departure from the trailhead, will you reach the sandy beach. At this point, we followed the shoreline north.

Admire the panoramic ocean views and let the sounds of the crashing waves lull you into a state of relaxation. This path will ultimately end at the northernmost edge of the beach, but don’t feel rushed; take the time to indulge in the scenery or have a picnic before heading back. When you are through exploring, head back the way you came to the trailhead.
