Limantour to Sculptured Beach Hike

Hiking this route is an incredible experience and is arguably one of our favorite adventures in the Point Reyes National Seashore. As you wander along the exposed headlands, you will be granted uninterrupted ocean views. The proximity to the coast offers great scenery, but can also feature some extreme conditions; make sure that you dress accordingly! Additionally, the shoreline cliffs are extremely fragile, so stick to the marked path at all times!

Setting out from the Beach Access Trailhead, the Limantour to Sculptured Beach Hike follows the Beach Access Trail to Limantour Beach and turns left to merge onto the Coast Trail. From here, the path will gradually ascend up the headlands, tracking southeast. The higher you climb, the windier the conditions will likely be, so hold onto your hat! Soon you will pass through the Coast Camp and arrive at the cliffs above Sculptured Beach.

If you are feeling adventurous, take one of the paths down to the tranquil beach. When you are through admiring the picture-perfect scene and exploring the beach, retrace your footing back along the path to the trailhead.
