Your adventure along the Abbotts Lagoon Trail begins from the parking lot and trailhead off Pierce Point Road. Setting out from here, the Abbotts Lagoon Trail tracks southwest into the dunes. The initial segment of the trek will lead you past the lush meadowlands often abundant with grazing cattle. Enjoy the scene of the seaside cattle, then continue meandering the marked path. Revel in the beauty of the wind-sculpted dunes, and you will soon reach the lagoon. Enjoy the panoramic views of the lagoon from the overlook and keep an eye out for otters that inhabit the area.

Soon you will reach a footbridge over the lagoon, which boasts yet another great perspective of the water. From here, you will be led west to a secluded beach. If time permits, explore the beach adorned with driftwoods and sea glass, throw the ball around and have a picnic as you watch the mesmerizing crashing waves. After you are through sunning and exploring the beach, it is time to begin your trek back to the trailhead. To get back, simply retrace your steps the way you came, all the way back to the carpark, marking the end of your seaside excursion.
