Sheffield Lodge Moor Walk Description
The Sheffield Lodge Moor Walk in Peak District National Park is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts that want to reconnect with nature without straying too far from the city. Setting out from the trailhead, the route heads north along Allen Sike before turning west to pass through the densely forested Fox Hagg on the approach to the Wyming Brook Nature Reserve. Here, walkers will make their way along the edge of the brook before passing through the dense woodland terrain on the edge of the moor.
After crossing Reddicar Clough, continue west to traverse the moor and take in the beautifully eerie atmosphere of the rugged landscape as you visit The Head Stone. From here, continue south to a small reservoir before the trail heads east to once again cross over the vast expanse of the moor. Arriving at the edge of the Redmires Reservoirs, take some time to walk along their edge and soak up the views across the water. Continue east to cut across the open farmland and eventually arrive back at the trailhead where you began.
