Haddon Hall to Bakewell Trail Description

The Haddon Hall to Bakewell Circular Walk is a popular route due to the breathtaking scenery along the banks of the River Wye and the chance to visit the site of a historic country house dating back to the 11th Century. The trail begins and ends at the historic Haddon Hall, meaning that you will have the chance to explore the grounds either before or after your walk. Setting out from the former seat of the Duke of Rutland, make your way across the River Wye and follow its winding banks to the north as you take in the beautiful riverside setting and eventually arrive in the town of Bakewell. From here, you will need to walk west through the charming town before turning to the south to cross a picturesque stretch of open farmland terrain. After reaching the southernmost point of the route near the River Lathkill, turn towards the east and follow the trail downhill to once again cross over the River Wye on the return to the starting point of the walk at Haddon Hall.
