While it may only be a short walk, this route is a relaxing adventure that will lead you uphill through the beautiful woodlands of the Kielder Forest Park to reach a spectacular display of art at the top of Cat Cairn. Created in 2000, this installation plays with the perception of light and changes over the course of the day, creating a truly unique experience that can only be found here. As such, this is a great walking route that the entire family will enjoy.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northwest through the forest, following along the winding lane for 0.6mi as it climbs uphill to arrive at a junction. Passing straight through, you will continue along the road for another 0.7mi, enjoying the serene woodland setting surrounding you before arriving at the endpoint of the walk at Cat Cairn.
