The main highlight of the Swan Inn Circular Walk is the trees lining the path just beyond the reptile centre. However, the varying landscape throughout will keep you well entertained. Just know that you may hear cars softly in the distance as some of the track sits near—but not on—a busy road. If you take on this hike during the winter, the conditions may be sloshy for the first 30 minutes or so, but it’s worth it to continue towards the magnificent trees past the reptile centre!

Swan Inn Circular Walk Description

The Swan Inn Circular Walk takes you on an 7.3mi journey that winds past the reptile centre to stunning groves of trees. So even if the weather creates sloshy conditions, it’s worth venturing to the trees! Plus, near the end of the walk, you’ll find a pub that harks to the 18th century: New Forest Inn. It’s also worth visiting Swan Inn for some dishes, before or after your walk, since you’ll be parking there. You’ll turn left to take a path from the car park that runs along the A35 before taking a right and quick left to follow Cut Walk trail, which sits parallel to the A35. Continue to loop around until you get back to the car park!
