Nisqually Vista Trail Description

Nisqually Vista Trail is a simple, non-challenging hike to a very pretty viewpoint. The trail is lined with wildflowers in midsummer and does with their fawns frequent the area. This trail is kid-friendly and a nice place to snap a family photo. However, it can get busy, so try visiting in the early morning or later in the afternoon. The path is paved, making it stroller-friendly.

From the lower Paradise parking lot, follow the signage for the Nisqually Vista Trail, climbing the stone stairs to the paved path. Turn left at the junction. You’ll gain a tiny bit of elevation, then descend a bit to another junction. You can go either way here to complete the loop of the trail—if you want to save the best view for last, go counterclockwise.

You’ll reach an interpretive sign at the viewpoint (just over 0.5mi in), describing how the glacier is receding year by year. Enjoy the big U-shaped valley and the glacier, and then rejoin the path to complete your loop and return to the lot. From the interpretive sign, you can retrace your steps instead of looping. It’s the same distance either way.
