Wright Mountain Hike Description
The view from atop Wright Mountain is fantastic, and getting to stop by the shores of Snow Lake en route is an extra treat. This trail is a perfect full-day trip, but we recommend arriving early to beat the crowds, most of which are normally headed for Snow Lake.
The trail begins at the Snow Lake trailhead, following Snow Lakes Trail across many creek crossings to where it begins to switchback. Climb to Snow Lake, skirting around its eastern shore. Follow the same path to nearby Gem Lake, where you’ll keep right off of High Lakes Trail onto a bootpath that climbs towards Wright Mountain.
There is a boulder field to navigate, but look for cairns leading the way. The summit is unsheltered from the sun, so bring a hat and water for hot days so you can hang out and enjoy the view before retracing your steps.
