Taylor River Trail is a long, mostly flat trail that is suitable for beginners and children, especially since there are nice turnaround points along the trail—or you can do the whole hike. This moderately trafficked trail provides beautiful scenery, meandering along the river with mountains on either side. There are some waterfalls along the trail that are best in the late spring.

Taylor River Trail Description

Sometimes you’re just not in the mood for big elevation gain, right? For a laid-back walk in the woods, enjoy the Taylor River Trail. This walk through a mossy forest is very relaxed and you can go as far as you like.

Begin from the end of the road right across the Taylor River. Take Snoqualmie Lake Trail, keeping right at the junction with Quartz Creek Trail. You’ll cross a few creeks as you roughly follow the river on your right. About three miles in, there’s a cute bridge across the river with small waterfalls that makes a nice turnaround point if you don’t want to complete the entire trail or if you have small children with you.

The route ends at the junction with Nordrum Lake Trail. From here, turn around and retrace your steps back through the forest to the trailhead.
