The Dalles Falls Trail is a moderately trafficked out-and-back trail in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest that is rated as moderate. This is a fairly quick and easy trail through a very pretty forest to a small waterfall. We recommend visiting in late spring when the waterfall is at its most impressive. This trail is family-friendly.

Dalles Falls Trail Description

The hike to Dalles Falls is suitable for beginners and kids and quite enjoyable, passing through a lovely forest to a small waterfall. The trail tends to be nice and quiet and doesn’t see all that much traffic, making it a great quick trip into nature. Try to plan a visit in the springtime when the falls have the most water on them.

The hike begins from the east side of the road, heading into the forest on the Palisades Trail. The trail turns to your right, then to your left, passes a junction with the White River Trail, and then zig-zags further as it crosses the Dalles Creek. There aren’t any other junctions so you shouldn’t struggle to follow the trail despite its whimsical turns.

Ascend through the forest on some moderate switchbacks next to the creek before turning left to the falls. Continue south to a creek crossing on a wooden bridge. This is where the trail ends, so retrace your steps from here (or keep going on the Palisades Trail if you wish, the North Snoquera viewpoint is just a bit further).
