Green Mountain Trail Description
From the parking area, join the Sheep trail toward the Sheep River, which you will need to cross. After crossing, take advantage of the wide open trail and wonderful views as you gain elevation on the way up. Pass by many junctions and make sure you remain on the sheep trail. You’ll have to cross Dyson Creek at the 2.5mi mark. 0.9mi from Dyson Creek, come to your second junction past the crossing and stay right. This is where you will create your lollipop route wrapping around Green Mountain. Travel 1.2mi to another junction, where you will take the trail to the left to gain Green Mountain. The elevation begins to gear up here, so be prepared to step it up a few notches. Summit the mountain and continue hiking along before descending to the main junction. Take the left trail to get back to the trailhead by crossing Dyson Creek and later, the Sheep River.
