While longer than many Joshua Tree National Park hikes, the route offers seclusion from crowds found in other areas in the park, as well as fantastic views for those willing to put the effort in. Panorama Trail and Big Foot Walk Description

The Panorama Trail and Big Foot Walk takes you through a less traveled, more remote section of Joshua Tree National Park! Bring lots of water, sunscreen, a hat, and other necessities to ensure happiness on the trail!

From your car, go to the trailhead, where you’ll head southwest along the designated trail. The trail, named Big Foot, continues in a southwestern direction over fairly flat terrain until it reaches a junction. This section of the trail is a circuit, and can be completed in either direction.

Whatever direction you choose to go, the elevation will begin to increase as you make your way through. You will know you are around half-way through the circuit section of the route when you can see Mary Mountain clearly in the west. The trail circles around some craggy terrain before meeting up at the initial junction point. From here, retrace your steps along Big Foot Trail back to the trailhead.
