Lorraine and Mona Lakes Trail Description
From the parking lot, cross the road towards the right, facing the bridge you travelled on the drive. You will find a large kiosk sign for the Skyline Trail. You’ll see Lorraine and Mona Lakes on the map. Enter the forest on the clear path and enjoy the solitude as most hikers on this trail are departing with backpacks for a 3-5 day adventure on the Skyline trail. There is a small spur trail at the 1.2mi mark that leads you down to Lorraine Lake. You’ll get a better view by taking the small side trail and coming back up before heading to Mona Lake. There is a small junction to Mona Lake that will take you closer to the shore than the main trail. You are about halfway to the backcountry campsite at Evelyn Creek here. From Mona Lake, turn back and head back to the parking lot at Maligne Lake.
