Schwabacher’s Landing is a scenic route in Grand Teton National Park. Fair warning, this trail gets very busy. The views of the Tetons from this trail attract hundreds of tourists from all over the world every season. We recommend heading out on this trail early in the morning to beat the crowds and earn an unobstructed view of the incredible mountains.

Not only is Schwabacher’s Landing famous for its views, but this hike is also an excellent place to see wildlife. Large mammals, including moose, are often seen wading through the wetlands. Beavers are the main attraction in this area. For the best chance to see beavers at work, head out on this trail early in the morning or at dusk. If you are lucky enough to see wild animals, do not feed them under any circumstances. Always admire wildlife in the Park from a safe and respectful distance.

To hike Schwabachers Landing, begin at the Schwabacher Trailhead and follow the path northwest for a short distance to what is now becoming oxbow lake in the Snake River.

Enjoy your time along the water and snap some photos before returning to the trailhead the way you came.
