Moose Ponds Trail Description

Those seeking an immersive and peaceful experience will enjoy the Moose Ponds Trail. This lovely path travels through wetlands, tree stands, and blossoming meadows at the foot of the Teton Mountains. Keep an eye out for bears, deer, moose, otters, osprey, and eagles as you wander– make sure at least one person in your party has bear spray and knows how to use it. If you do encounter any sort of wildlife, be sure to admire them from a distance and do not make any sudden movements. Note the Grand Teton National Park charges an entrance fee; refer to the NPS website for additional information.

Your journey along the Moose Ponds Hike begins from the South Jenny Lake Trailhead. Be sure to arrive early to secure a spot in the parking lot! From here, follow the South Jenny Lake Loop Trail north, merging left onto the Jenny Lake Trail at the following junction. You will be granted breathtaking views of the snow-dusted summits framing Jenny Lake. Soon you will encounter an intersection with the Moose Pond Trail; veer left here. This lovely path ventures around Moose Pond and through a lush tree stand.

At the following intersection, take the rightmost trail, which will lead you through a vast meadow and all the way back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
