Sinclair Wash Trail Description
The Sinclair Wash Trail is a great multi-use route that gives you a dose of nature right from Flagstaff. Lined with pine trees and wildflowers, it’s wide, easy to follow, and well-maintained. You can hike, bike, or jog on this route, and it allows dogs on leash. Give it a shot next time you want some fresh air and nice scenery without needing to leave the city.
This route is used by mixed traffic, so you’ll want to keep an eye out and share the trail. Remember that dogs need to be kept on leash, which is important with the bike traffic that uses this route.
From the trailhead, the route crosses the highway and follows the wash as it heads southwest. Crossing W Palmer Ave, you’ll get out of the city and enjoy some more quiet. Cross Purple Sage Trail and Getaway Trail and then pass the Tuthill Tank. You’ll enter the Coconino National Forest, pass a horseback riding arena, and then reach the trail’s end. From here, turn around and retrace your steps to the trailhead.
