Rocky Mountain Lake Park Loop Description

The Rocky Mountain Lake Park Loop is the perfect venture to escape the ruckus of the real world. Slip into a state of relaxation as you trek the stunning lakeside trail and through greenspaces sheltered by towering trees. Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch overlooking the lake that is hemmed by sights of the Denver skyline. This Park presents the perfect nature trail that the whole family can enjoy.

Embark on your journey around the Rocky Mountain Lake Park Loop from the parking lot off W 46th Ave. From here, you can choose to complete the hike from either direction, but we prefer to trek counterclockwise. From here, turn right and hike northeast through the greenspace before the trail hugs the shoreline. There is only one perimeter trail, so the path is easy to follow. Continue along the route which will guide you west, along the north shore of the lake. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for geese and ducks as you hike. This section of the path is near the interstate, so you may hear some traffic.

Follow the path and it will eventually curve you southeast. Hike along the lake’s shoreline all the way back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
