Though undeniably scenic, this path warrants inevitable dangers. Like many other foothill excursions, there are plenty of rattlesnakes along this trail. Keep children and pups close and be mindful of the bathing beauties as you venture the routes. Though manageable it is worth noting that there are some steep, rocky segments of the trail. Wear sturdy footwear and be valiant of loose rocks to avoid rolling an ankle. The ideal location attracts dozens of adventurers every day, so if you are seeking a secluded excursion, consider heading out in the early morning to beat the crowds (and the heat for that matter)!

When you are all geared up and ready to venture the Mount Galbraith via Cedar Gulch Trail, you will want to depart from the Cedar Gulch Trailhead. From here, the Cedar Gulch Trail will follow along the creek before diverging into the meadowlands. Enjoy the sounds of singing birds as you navigate a wide switchback. As you trek along the exposed path be mindful of rattlesnakes but notice the epic views of Denver in the distance. Now hiking southwest, the route will reveal views of the verdant foothills before delivering you to an intersection with the Nightbird Gulch Trail.
From this junction, you can choose to complete the loop from either direction, but we prefer trekking clockwise. Hike southeast along the Mount Galbraith Loop Trail to a stunning overlook. From the east side of the summit, you will be granted expansive views of the metropolitan below. From here, you can clearly see the Coors Brewery and Canning Facility, which will undoubtedly have you craving a cold refreshment. Follow along this path as it curves you around the summit of Mount Galbraith, revealing dumbfounding views of the Clear Creek Canyon below.
Soon, you will enter the tree shade of towering pines and spruce. Enjoy the break as you trek along the increasingly rocky route. As you hike along this trail, you will begin gradually descending the summit. The path will curve you back around the mountain and deliver you back to the intersection with Nightbird Gulch Trail. Here, keep left and you will be diverted back onto the Cedar Gulch Trail, which will lead you back to the trailhead. Mind your footing as you descend the rocky terrain and enjoy the vistas of the Golden Gate Canyon and the Continental Divide. Reaching the trailhead marks the end of your exciting adventure along Mount Galbraith via Cedar Gulch Trail.
