Wildrose Peak Trail Description
Due to both its length and elevation fluctuation, the Wildrose Peak Trail is likely not appropriate for children or beginner hikers. It is also important to remember that the Wildrose Peak Trail is within the desert environment of Death Valley National Park, and so it is essential you prepare yourself for the conditions. Make sure that you bring lots of water, and that you are wearing both sunscreen and a hat.
Having arrived at the trailhead, follow the Wildrose Trail north along an unnamed hillside. The route will then veer to the northeast, gaining a small amount of elevation as it goes. After passing the first unnamed hill, the route will head east sharply before making its way north along a second unnamed hillside.
The trail will then arrive at a short plateau. Having passed the paluete, the route will begin to climb up Wildrose Peak. Here the elevation incline becomes rather steep, and the trail will eventually turn into a series of switchbacks to aid you in your climb. With the switchback portion of the trail completed, you are but a short distance away from Wildrose Peak, where panoramic views of the surrounding area can be enjoyed. Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the sightlines, simply backtrack your steps towards the trailhead.
