Lee Moor and Quarry Walk Description

The Lee Moor and Quarry Walkis a fairly straightforward adventure along the boundary of Dartmoor National Park, although there are a few points along the upper portion of the walk above the quarry that can be a bit tough to navigate, as the trails are fairly faint here. Make sure to bring a GPS in order to follow the correct route. Additionally, terrain in and around the quarry, as well as the landscape across the moor can be fairly rugged, so you should wear proper walking boots with good support to safely traverse the trail.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northwest along the road, before traversing the rugged landscape of the quarry. Reaching a small lake right along the edge of Dartmoor National Park, you will turn to the northeast to climb uphill along the upper portion of the route overlooking the quarry. This is the part that is tricky to navigate, so keep one eye on the path and the other on your GPS. Continue along the trail as it turns to the southeast across the moor, offering lovely views overlooking the lakes within the rock-strewn quarry below. Eventually, you will enter into some tree cover and pass through a beautiful stretch of woodland terrain on the return leg of the journey back to the trailhead.
