The Buckland Monachorum Garden House Walk is a lovely route on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park that will take you through open fields and charming villages to reach a pristine garden. While out on the trail, you will make your way gradually downhill through the Devon countryside and pass through the village of Buckland Monachorum to arrive at The Garden House. This is a great walking route that makes for a fun day out on the trails.
Getting there
To reach the trailhead for the Buckland Monachorum Garden House Walk from Horrabridge, drive southeast on Plymouth Road/A386 for 1.3mi and take the second exit at the roundabout to stay on A386. Follow this for 0.2mi and turn right. Continue on for 0.1mi and make another right to enter the car park.

If you enjoy lovely garden strolls and experiencing the countryside, then the Buckland Monachorum Garden House Walk will be the perfect way to spend an afternoon outdoors. Setting out from the trailhead on the edge of Yelverton, you will make your way to the northwest and begin a gradual descent of the hillside as you work across several open fields. Eventually, you will reach the village of Buckland Monachorum and follow the trail to the southeast to arrive at the well-manicured grounds of The Garden House. Take some time to appreciate the natural beauty here and pop into the tea room, before backtracking along the trail to return to the car park where you started your journey.
