The West Pleasant Creek Trail sees little traffic and is a great place to cool your feet and revel in the beauty of the Utah desert landscape.
Getting there
Turn south down Pleasant Creek Road from Capitol Reef Scenic Drive and park at the parking pullout about 2.5mi down on South Draw Road.

The West Pleasant Creek Trail is a beautiful hike along a very pleasant stream that flows year round. Before heading out on this trail, it is very important to check the forecast. Flash flooding along Pleasant Creek can be extremely dangerous, so do not attempt this hike if you see rain on the horizon and turn back if you see clouds building. The West Pleasant Creek Trail is a fantastic hike for a clear day, where you can cool your feet and enjoy your time exploring this beautiful section of Capitol Reef National Park.
From the trailhead, follow the creek westward until you reach the confluence of Pleasant Creek and Sulphur Creek. This is a good spot to turn around and follow the creek back up to the trailhead.
