Zeus and Moses Trail Description

The Zeus and Moses Trail is a beautiful low-traffic hike to two incredible 500ft-tall sandstone spires. This trail can only be accessed via Taylor Canyon Road or the Alcove Spring Hiking Trail. Taylor Canyon road is a rugged 4×4 trail that necessitates a vehicle with high clearance and 4WD. If you do not have access to such a vehicle, you can reach the Zeus and Moses Trail by hiking along the Alcove Spring Trail: a gorgeous, challenging hike that begins at the Alcove Spring Trailhead along Upheaval Dome Road. The Zeus and Moses formations are 500ft-tall towers of Wingate Sandstone that are the eroded remnants of wind-bourne sand dunes. There are a few existing climbing routes up these towers. If you see rock climbers along your hike, wish them luck and be sure to watch as they gracefully ascend these impressive structures.

From the Taylor Canyon Trailhead, follow the path east to the Zeus and Moses Towers.

Take a rest and stand in awe of these incredible formations before turning around and following the same path back to the trailhead.
