Grand View Point Trail Description

The Grand View Point Overlook trail is a short, out-and-back hike with exceptional views of Canyonlands National Park. The first 100 yards of this trail is paved and flat: this section is accessible to people pushing strollers or folks in wheelchairs. The trail beyond the first viewpoint is not paved and travels over rugged ground and up a few stairs; it is not recommended for strollers or wheelchairs.

Although this hike may be short- don’t forget to bring good sun protection and a bottle of water. There is very little shade on this trail, and this hike gets hot under the blazing Utah sun.

The views afforded by this short trail are absolutely breathtaking. From the viewpoints, look out across Canyonlands to see iconic formations such as the Needles, Monument Basin, and White Rim Road. Gaze even further to see the Abajo Mountains and the La Sal Mountain Range in the distance.

From the trailhead, follow the paved path for 100 yards to the first viewpoint. Continue along the trail for another 0.9mi to the second viewpoint.

At the second viewpoint, snap some photos and take a moment to soak in the incredible landscape before you. When you are ready, follow the same path back to the trailhead. If you are looking for another adventure to fill out your day- check out the White Rim Overlook or the Gooseberry Trail nearby.
