Embark on your adventure along the Lake Link Trail from the Lake Link Trailhead West Entrance. From here, track northeast. This path will guide you along the meadow-laden trail past Josh’s Pond. The path will then curve east along the boundary of a suburban neighborhood. Eventually, you will pass another small pond before trekking under Highway 287. Soon the route will guide hikers northeast, intersecting with several gurgling creeks.

The trail will soon near Grant B Reservoir. Notice the shimmering waters in the north as you continue to meander northeast. Hike along the path, enjoying sights of the lush grasslands. Keep an eye out for grazing deer and prairie dogs in this area! Hike over the Community Ditch and track beneath Aspen Street. Now trekking east, travel past several small ponds, which are often dotted with geese and swimming ducks. You will meet the adventure’s end when you intersect with Sheridan Boulevard.

If you still have some gas left in the tank, why not follow the Lake Link Trail all the way to McKay Lake, a natural oasis nestled in a charming neighborhood. Whether you continue to the lake or end your journey at Sheridan Boulevard, all you must do to get back to the trailhead is retrace your footing. On your venture back to the trailhead, you will be rewarded with sights of the Front Range peaks that hem the cityscape.
