Route Description for Lost Lake
The hike to Lost Lake is a great short hike near Whistler. To get to Lost Lake, you must pass PassivHaus (the bike rental shop at the start of the cross-country ski/mountain bike area) and head towards the trailhead to Lost Lake on the right.
You now have two options: either take the secluded nature trail or the main gravel path. The nature trail is narrower and has fewer people, letting you relax and find yourself within the trees. The main Lost Lake pathway is busy, has bikes, and is very wide. We suggest you take the nature trail.
The nature trail goes all the way to Lost Lake, and circumnavigates part of the lake. Once you reach Lost Lake there will be a junction. Turn left and rejoin the nature trail. At the end of the nature trail, return to the main pathway and finish going around Lost Lake. You will reach a small park at the far end of the lake where there are picnic tables for you to take a rest. This is a perfect place to enjoy a swim in the relatively warm waters of Lost Lake.
As you hike you will have views up to Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains, and the Peak to Peak gondola! A truly magnificent sight. Finish going around the lake, hanging a right as you go, then rejoin the nature trail returning to the PassivHaus.

Insider Hints
The kids will enjoy a picnic and a swim at the easterly beach of Lost Lake, and the relative seclusion is welcome.

The lost lake hike was a little crowded but it's easy to see why it's so popular. A must do in Whistler.
