If this is the case, park and depart from the Little Half Moon Trailhead off the Little Half Moon Road and cross the creek over to the trailhead. The mosquitos in this area are relentless, so make sure you wear bug spray. Additionally, as with all sorts of exploration of the area, make sure at least one person in your group carries bear spray, just in case.
Your hike to Fayette Lake begins from the trailhead. Setting out from here, you will be guided northward between two bluffs. Wandering through meadowlands, you will soon pass the Little Moon Lake on your left-hand side. At this point, you will confront an intersection, maintain on the Fayette Lake Trail. Now more intensely climbing, you will be redirected northeast, winding through dense tree stands and communities of low-lying brush. Eventually, you will reach the highest point of the hike, which exhibits expansive vistas of the encompassing granite oasis. Admire the scenery, then descend towards the lakeshore.
