Lillian Lake via the Lakes Country Trail is a wonderful hike in the Uinta Lake Country. This hike is moderately challenging with undulating, rocky terrain, but it is a great route for lightly experienced hikers or families with older children. Dogs are also welcome along the Lillian Lake Trail; if you are hiking with a pup, please keep an eye out for wild animals, and have a leash handy in case of wildlife encounters.
Getting there
From Kamas, Utah, head east along highway 150 for 24.6mi then take a left onto Forest Road 041. Continue along FR 041 to a divide, take a right then park at the Crystal Lake Trailhead parking lot just past the Washington Lake Campground.

The hike to Lillian Lake via the Lake Country Trail is an excellent way to spend the day exploring the Utah wilderness. This hike shares a trailhead with a series of other popular hikes in the area. If you are hiking on a weekend, we suggest arriving early in the day to snag a parking spot. If you cannot find parking at the trailhead, an overflow lot is approximately a mile down the road. Parking here does add some distance to your trip, but we promise that this hike is worth it. On route to Lillian Lake, you pass by a series of beautiful, crystal clear lakes surrounded by lush forest. This trail is very dog-friendly and a great way to spend the day outside, enjoying the beauty of nature with your family and friends.
To hike to Lillian Lake, begin at the Crystal Lake Trailhead, and take the Lake Country Trail 216 heading west. Approximately 1.6 miles in, the trail will branch into two, take the trail on your left and stick to the trail on your left to make your way southwest to Lillian Lake.
Enjoy your time on the shores of Lillian Lake. Then, when you are ready to head home, simply retrace your footsteps back to the Crystal Lake Trailhead, where you began. If you are not done exploring, you can continue heading southwest down to Marjorie Lake or check out Duck Lake and Island Lake nearby.
