The Cathedrals Trail Description
The Cathedrals Trail is a beautiful, family-friendly hike in Capitol Reef National Park. This trail begins with a steep climb and continues steadily upward to a high point. Proper hiking footwear is essential for this trail and, if you have mobility issues, or just want to save your joints some strain, hiking poles can be a great tool to bring along. From the top of this hike, you will get incredible panoramic views of the Cathedrals: impressive formations of entrada sandstone reminiscent of gothic cathedrals that rise above the barren desert landscape.
From the trailhead, follow the path westward up to the viewpoint.
Take a rest at the top and soak in the incredible views before turning around and heading back to the trailhead following the way you came.
