Fall Creek Pass Trail Description
Ready for a challenge? Though the Fall Creek Pass Trail is a taxing experience, the incredible scenery and awe-inspiring panoramas prove well worth the effort. Adventure along the gurgling creek, past several alpine lakes, and up to the pass which grants expansive views of the Mount of the Holy Cross Wilderness. Reserved for intrepid explorers, this trek demands preparation and stamina. Be sure to check the forecast prior to your adventure to mitigate the chances of getting caught in a nasty storm and strap on some microspikes in the fall and winter months to safely navigate the vertiginous terrain.
Once you are all packed up and ready to go, begin your adventure along the Fall Creek Pass Trail from the trailhead in the Half Moon Campground. From here, head south along the Fall Creek Trail. The path will immediately start climbing towards the pass. Enjoy the shade of the towering pines and aspens along the initial segment of your hike. Eventually, you will pass Lake Constantine and the Tuhare Lakes before arriving at the mountain cirque, where the Seven Sisters Lakes sit.
Revel in the sights of the crystalline alpine lakes and continue along the path. Now trekking through the exposed alpine tundra you will be granted amazing views of the looming snow-capped peaks. You will soon meet the trail’s end after passing Hunky Dory Lake. From here, retrace your footing along the path all the way back to the trailhead.
