Green’s Creek Trail Description

Immerse yourself deep into the wilderness along the Green’s Creek Trail. Admire the diversity of the flora and fauna as you get your blood pumping. Located in the sub-alpine terrain, this trek presents the ideal opportunity to spot moose, deer, and even bears! If you are worried about an unwelcome encounter with wildlife, then consider wearing a bear bell! This versatile adventure can also be enjoyed year-round! Once the snow falls, tack on a pair of snowshoes and enjoy a different perspective.

Embark on your journey along the Green’s Creek Trail from the trailhead off the Green Creek Road. From here, the woodland path will guide hikers southwestward. As you travel through the forested gulch, you will get the odd sight of the Sawatch Mountain summits peeking through the tree breaks. Revel in the beauty of the scenery and enjoy the sounds of the gurgling waters as you walk. Be mindful of your footing on the rocky terrain, you wouldn’t want a rolled ankle!

As you near the trail’s end the terrain will become increasingly exposed, rewarding you with better views of the mountainous landscape. You will encounter your turnaround point at the intersection with the Colorado Trail Segment 15. Here, turn around and backtrack along the path to the trailhead.
