Eugenia Mine Hike Description
The Eugenia Mine Trail is a scenic woodland excursion. The easily manageable terrain and limited elevation gain means this trail is ideal for family adventures and it’s a perfect introductory expedition for novice hikers seeking to acclimate to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) excursions. This path weaves between tree shade and exposed terrain so prepare accordingly and wear layers! The trail will guide you to the historic Eugenia Mine’s rusted remnants. Situated within the park, hikers must purchase a pass to utilize the trails.
Begin your adventure to Eugenia Mine from the Longs Peak Trailhead. From here, track the Longs Peak Trail until the junction. Here, veer right and you will be diverted onto the Eugenia Mine Trail. Hike beneath the shade of the towering pine trees and cross Inn Brook. After crossing the brook, you will notice the last remnants of the Eugenia Mine on your left. Explore the rusted artifacts and continue along the forested route. Trek past the dispersed campground to the junction.
You will have met the trail’s end at the junction with the Estes Cone Trail, this is your turnaround point. To get back to the trailhead, simply retrace your steps back along the path.
