The Lesbury, Alnwick, and Hulne Park Walk is a long distance walking route in Northumberland that features a mixture of urban and natural terrain, as well as interesting historical sites. While out walking the trail, you will traverse the open countryside along the banks of the River Aln to visit Alnwick Castle, before looping around Hulne Park to visit the historic Hulne Priory. This walk may be very long, but it does offer a great chance to see a number of popular Northumberland highlights.

Featuring the picturesque Northumberland countryside, an imposing castle complex, and an historic priory set in the woodland landscape of Hulne Park, the Lesbury, Alnwick, and Hulne Park Walk is a fantastic adventure for those who enjoy historical sites and undertaking long distance walks.
Setting out from the trailhead in Lesbury, you will leave the village behind as you head to the northwest, following along the winding banks of the River Aln as it cuts across the countryside. After taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding farmland, you will pass through the town of Alnwick, where you will find Alnwick Castle, which was famously portrayed as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
From here, you will continue on to the northwest and enter Hulne Park, where you will begin a loop around the expanse of woodland terrain. At the northernmost point of the loop, you will discover the ruins of the 13th Century Hulne Priory, which have also been used as a filming location for projects like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. After visiting the ruins, you will complete the loop portion of the trail and meet up with your original route, following it back through Alnwick and across the countryside on the return to Lesbury.
