The Old Wagon Trail is a moderate trail that runs the Pacific Crest Trail. A hike on Old Wagon takes you through a gorgeous forest complete with old-growth cedars and plenty of huckleberries. With over 1804ft of elevation gain, it’s enough of a challenge without being too difficult.
The trailhead for this hike is only accessible by foot.

The trailhead for Old Wagon Trail is hike-in only. It’s at the PCT Trailhead near High Bridge Campground.

Old Wagon Trail Description
Old Wagon Trail is a treat, taking you through a wonderful forest with old-growth cedars to admire. The beginning of this hike is only accessible on foot, so you’ll need to pair it with another adventure or do it as part of a backpacking trip.
Begin from the PCT trailhead. You’ll take a few switchbacks past Howard Lake. Stay left after the lake and then again after two creek crossings. Several more creek crossings follow and the elevation gain evens out after the steeper first section.
The trail ends near Bridge Creek Camp. Either continue on in the same direction or return to the trailhead by retracing your steps.
