Keekwulee Falls via Denny Creek Trail

Keekwulee Falls is a quintessential Washington hiking experience, with lush forest and mountains surrounding a cascade waterfall. It’s not very difficult to reach, making it a nice hike for beginners and families. The trail is well-maintained and goes past the falls if you wish to keep hiking a bit further.

The hike begins from the north end of Denny Creek Campground, a great spot to book a site if you’re looking for a few days of adventure. Following the river, you’ll cross the water and then cross the highway. Meander along Denny Creek, crossing over at The Slide. There is a smaller waterfall about halfway up the trail that can be accessed via a spur trail on your right, just before the two switchbacks.

After a straight section of trail, the falls appear on your right. There are lower falls and upper falls, so take time to enjoy both of them. If you wish, you can hike up a few tight switchbacks and a short straight stretch to Snowshoe Falls. When you’re done, retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
