The Three Sisters Trail is a 13.1mi out-and-back hiking route near Fernie, BC, that will take you through beautiful alpine meadows and over rocky terrain to reach the summit. This challenging trail will provide phenomenal views over the mountainous terrain, including nearby peaks such as Mount Bisaro, Mount Proctor, and Mount Fernie. This is a tough climb, so make sure to come prepared with all the necessary equipment for a day in the mountains.
Getting there
To get to the trailhead for the Three Sisters Trail from Fernie, drive Northeast on BC-3 for 4.0mi and make a left on Dicken Road. Continue for 1969ft and take a right onto Hartley Lake Road. After 5.5mi, you will find the trailhead on the left.

Hiking the Three Sisters Trail is a breathtaking experience in Fernie that will provide you with a different perspective of the rugged and majestic mountains that define the skyline in the area surrounding the town. This strenuous trail climbs uphill through various terrain, including dense forests, beautiful meadows, and steep exposed rock, to reach the summit of the mountain. From there, you can look out over the scenic alpine terrain and spot several familiar peaks, including Mount Bisaro, Mount Fernie, and Mount Proctor.
Due to the rugged, steep, and exposed nature of the upper portions of this trail, hikers should bring any necessary gear, including proper hiking boots, trekking poles, and microspikes, to safely traverse the trail. Although challenging, this trail offers a great way to experience the natural beauty that makes the Fernie area special.
