Bakewell to Chatsworth House Walk Description

The Bakewell to Chatsworth House Walk is a popular route due to the relatively easy-going nature of the trail and the scenic views of both the beautiful English countryside and the historic estate that has been in the Cavendish family since 1549. This lovely trail sets out from the heart of Bakewell near the Agricultural Business Centre and heads northeast to cut across the Bakewell Golf Club before passing through Manners Wood. From here, you will make your way through an open field, passing by a small reservoir on your left before entering into another forest known as New Piece Wood. Continue along the trail as it enters the lands of the estate and skirts around the village of Edensor. From here, you will continue east to cross over the River Derwent and arrive at the beautiful Chatsworth House that has been named Britain’s favourite country house on several occasions. Take some time to explore the grounds before heading back along the same trail to return to the car park.
