- McKenzie River Trail (12.5mi, 725ft, 2.5-3.5h): McKenzie River bike trail has been called North America’s best single-track trail. Though a bit of a drive from Bend, this thrilling trail through lush temperate rain forest and magma rock will please all mountain bikers!
- Tiddlywinks (12.3mi, 627ft, 2.5-3.5h): This popular trail is the king of variety. Tiddlywinks has a bit of everything with cross country riding, a short climb, extremely flowy downhill, and some technical riding, this trail will please all mountain bikers. The middle section of the Tiddlywinks trail, however, is best known for its man-made berms and tabletop jumps.
- Whoops Loop (3.5mi, 423ft, 0.5-1.5h): Bend’s own “A-Line”, Lower Whoops Trail is the quintessential downhill flow trail of the area. You’ll find plenty of mountain bikers on this trail, and it’s easy to see why. With a chill logging road climb and fantastic berms and tabletops to huck on the way down, it’s easy to spend all day cycling Whoops.
- Tyler’s Traverse (13.6mi, 495ft, 3-4h): Tyler’s Traverse is a favorite bike trail amongst locals, this classic shuttle run is more technical than its brother Tiddlywinks. Though this trail definitely has its fair share of flowy berms, there are many more rock gardens than most of the other trails around Bend. Truly an old school mountain bike trail.
- Smith Rock Summit Trail Loop (7.7mi, 1053ft, 2.5-3.5h): Smith Rock State Park is popular with hikers and bikers for a reason! The towering cliffs and the lush Crooked River are candy for the eyes. And the riding isn’t too bad either, though you will have to contend with a few hikers on the trail to get to the goods.
- Phil’s Trail (6.2mi, 673ft, 0.5-1.5h): The namesake trail for the popular Phil’s Trailhead in Bend, this mostly one-way trail is a classic mellow descent. With plenty of fast sections, a few small jumps, and a couple small rock gardens, this is a fantastic trail for aspiring mountain bike riders to test their skills.
- Peterson Ridge Trail (101ft, 755ft, 4-5h): The Peterson Ridge Trail system, with its roughly ladder-like shape allows for a ride of any length. You can follow one of the ‘rails’ as far as you like, and then traverse across one of the many ‘rungs’ to descend the other ‘rail’ back down to your car! Perfect for families and aspiring cross-country bike riders. Plus, it isn’t too far from Bend.
- Suttle Tie and Loop (13.5mi, 364ft, 2.5 -3.5h): Suttle Tie and Loop is an easy bike ride in a beautiful environment. The Tie trail connects the parking lot to Suttle Lake, where the Loop Trail will bend in and bring you around the lake. A popular ride with children, or for cross country training.
- Ben’s Trail (5.3mi, 604ft, 1-1.5h): Recently switched to a one-way, uphill only trail, Ben’s near Bend is the quintessential cross-country climbing trail from Phil’s Trail. Don’t worry, short descents and fun features frequently break up the gentle climb. A plus is you won’t see as many bikes on this trail.
- Kent’s Trail (6.3mi, 13ft, 1-1.5h): Another classic mountain bike trail of the Phil’s Trailhead complex, Kent’s trail can be ridden either as a climb or as a descent. It's easy to add this trail to your day at Phil's. We enjoy doing this as a mellow descent after a few loops of Whoops, or as a climb if you get bored of Ben’s.
