Algonquin Provincial Park

Established in 1893, Algonquin is the oldest provincial park in Canada and features a beautiful, yet rugged landscape characterized by stunning forests, picturesque lakes, and diverse wildlife. Old growth forests in the area are estimated to date back over 600 years and a variety of large mammals, such as moose, black bear, and wolves make up but a fraction of the rich biodiversity that can be experienced here. As interest in the park continues to grow, so does tourism, with the park seeing over 800,000 visitors per year.

A popular destination for a variety of year-round activities, Algonquin Provincial Park offers over 1,200 campsites along the main throughway, ON-60, as well as 100 others along the northern and easton edges of the park.
