Ross Lake Trail Description

A relatively easy hike with some truly breathtaking scenery, the Ross Lake Hike is a great family-friendly adventure that will expose you to views of several charming lakes, in addition to the dramatic mountain peaks and peaceful forests that characterize the landscape of Yoho National Park. Setting out from the trailhead, follow the old road to the east as it cuts through the forest and passes by the shores of Sink Lake. From here, you will turn to the south and climb slightly uphill through the dense tree cover to eventually arrive at the quiet shores of Ross Lake. The views here are incredible, as you stand at the edge of the lake and stare up at the imposing rock formations of Narao Peak and Divide Mountain. After taking in the views and exploring the area around the lake, turn back and follow the same trail to return to the parking area.
