Skywalk Trail to Screaming Cat Lake

The Skywalk Trail to Screaming Cat Lake is a great trail through the woodlands around Whistler that crosses a few biking trails along the lower portion of the route. Because of this, hikers should bring a GPS or a decent trail map to stay on the right course. After this initial stretch, the trail is well marked and easy to follow up to the lake. Hikers should also make sure to bring bug spray during the warmer months, as the trail and the area around the lake can be heavily populated by mosquitos. Besides these minor issues, the Skywalk Trail is an awesome route that provides hikers with some scenic views of Green Lake before climbing uphill through the tree cover and meadows toward the waters of Screaming Cat Lake.

Setting out from the trailhead, make your way along the 19 Mile Creek Trail, keeping straight through the junctions as you steadily climb uphill through the tree cover. Shortly after beginning the hike, there will be a viewpoint where you can catch a glimpse of Green Lake below. Continue on the trail for 1.9km, where you will reach a junction off to the right. Follow this and keep moving uphill, passing by the small lake on your right as the trail continues as the Skywalk Trail.

Eventually, the tree cover will become less dense, and you will begin the final approach through the meadow to Screaming Cat Lake. Take in the beautiful views of the tranquil, wooded shores along the lake with its mountainous backdrop before heading back down the trail. A few hundred meters after passing by the small lake, you will reach a fork in the trail. On the left will be the path you followed during your ascent, and on the right will be the Upper Howler Trail. Follow the Upper Howler Trail to the right, as it will offer a slight variation but will rejoin the main trail after a short distance. After this point, you will follow the exact same trail that you came in on to return to your car, having completed the Skywalk Trail to Screaming Cat Lake.
