O Circuit: Lake Pehoé to Cuernos Trail Description

When it comes to trekking along the O Circuit: Lake Pehoé to Cuernos segment, the only thing that rivals the overall length of the route is the striking beauty of the landscape. Dramatic mountain peaks, frigid glacial lakes, and pristine river valleys await on this exceptional adventure in Torres del Paine National Park.

Setting out from the trailhead at Campamento Paine Grande, you will follow along the trail as it leads to the northwest, quickly leaving behind the shores of Lake Pehoé. After an undulating climb, you will find yourself hiking along the edge of Lago Skottsberg as the trail bends further to the northeast under the shadow of Cerro Paine Grande on your left.

As you round the base of the imposing mountain, the terrain will open up at the entrance of the Valle del Francés. After arriving at a junction, you will follow the path on the left as it leads into the pristine valley, following closely alongside the banks of the Río del Francés. As you work your way north, you will be met by a series of breathtaking viewpoints, culminating with the Mirador Británico.

After taking in the incredible views, you will turn back along the trail and retrace your steps to return to the opening of the valley. Keeping left at the junction, the path will lead you along the edge of Lake Nordenskjöld to arrive at your final stop for the day: Camping Los Cuernos. Once there, take some time to set up your camp and relax ahead of your next adventure on the O Circuit: Ascencio Valley to Chileno.
