Waterhouse Lake Trail Description

Put your navigational skills and bushwhacking abilities to the test as you venture the Waterhouse Lake Trail. This primitive route, though unmarked, boasts an incredible experience and offers wonderful views. As most of the terrain is exposed, it is important to wear sun protection to avoid overexposure. Additionally, it is important to be mindful of rattlesnakes bathing on the granite slabs in the summer months. Note this path is not well signposted, so make sure you download the trail GPS.

Setting out from the trailhead, this hike travels south along an unmarked path down through a gulch decorated with mixed pines. Mind your footing on the rocky terrain, especially if it is wet! Soon the route will more intensely descend before diverting you east to Waterhouse Lake. If time permits, we encourage you to walk around the lake’s perimeter to get the full experience.

Marvel in the beauty of the granite oasis, and when you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
