Pinecrest Lake and Pinecrest Peak Loop Description

The Pinecrest Lake and Pinecrest Peak Loop is a wonderful hike that boasts picturesque views. Explore the high country and indulge in its beauty while getting your heart rate up. Though this route does not travel up to the summit of Pinecrest Peak, it follows the same trail for a few clicks and rewards hikers with wonderful views of the summit. If you are seeking a less demanding excursion than the Pinecrest Peak Hike, then you have come to the correct trail.

Setting out from the trailhead, the Pinecrest lake and Pinecrest Peak Loop tracks southeast along the Pinecrest Lake Trail. This path will guide you along the southern shoreline of the shimmering lake, past several charming cabins overlooking the waters. Eventually, you will reach an intersection with the Pinecrest Peak Trail on the lake’s eastern shore. Veer right and begin ascending the path. At the following junction, keep left, passing Catfish Lake, which boasts wonderful scenes of Pinecrest Peak. Continue along this trail, descending several switchbacks, keeping left at the next intersection.

Soon after the junction, you will reconnect with the Pinecrest Lake Trail. Hike across the dam, traveling southwest back to the trailhead, making the end of your scenic adventure.
